Has anyone installed an SSD in a Thinkpad Edge?

I'm considering a new matte-finish Edge. I wish you could order the matte finish in a configurable setup from Lenovo, but I've found a basic model on Amazon.

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone has successfully installed an SSD drive in a Thinkpad edge? If so what model, and did you have any issues? Last time I did a hard drive on a Thinkpad it was a T43 and I had to flash the BIOS of the drive (Hitachi 100GB 7,200RPM) with a ROM from Lenovo's Web site.

The Edge uses a standard hard drive. You shouldn't have any trouble updating to a SSD. The firmware was an issue particular to the T43/R52 because of the SATA to PATA bridge Lenovo used in order to use PATA drives. Good luck and welcome to TP.com.
