Benefit of ThinkPad Power Manager?

Is there a description of the benefits/functionality differences between ThinkPad Power Manager and the native power management in Windows 7?

Thanks for the quick reply. More accurate battery information definitely sounds helpful. Is there somewhere that I can find more specifics regarding the options and settings offered over Windows 7?
