Installation README


This package installs an updated version of the Express Labeller
software that comes packaged with Multimedia Center for Think
Offerings in your Lenovo system.

This update requires approximately 38MB of space on your hard drive.

Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation.

This update is NOT for Lenovo 3000 systems.

This update is NOT for Think systems with RecordNow.


Determining if this update is applicable
========================================
1. Click Start, Run
2. Type 'regedit' into the command box.
3. Open the tree view to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sonic\Express Labeller\Preferences
4. Inspect the registry values and apply the steps for your situation.

Situation A: No Key at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sonic\Express Labeller

  You have Express Labeller 1.x, or no Express Labeller.  You cannot use this
  update.  You will need to update Recordnow to the latest versionl, which 
  includes the xpress labeller.

Situation B: Value 'BuildOEM' = 'SSS'

  You cannot use this Express Labeller update.  You will need Express Labeller 
  Update for RecordNow.

Situation C: Value 'BuildOEM' = 'IBM'

  You can use this update.

Situation D: Value 'BuildOEM' = 'LPC'

  You will need Express Labeller Update for Digital Media LE.


Downloading the package
=======================
1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save
   the downloaded file.


Installing the package
======================
1.  Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files or Folders.
2.  Type elabeluibm.exe in the search field, then click Find Now.
    This will locate the file you just downloaded.
3.  Double-click the elabeluibm.exe icon.
4.  When prompted to uninstall the old version, select Yes.
5.  When prompted if you are sure that you want to uninstall, select Yes.
6.  Follow all onscreen prompts to install the new version.


Application Notes
=================
- This update will only install if a previous version of Express
  Labeller for IBM is present.
- This version of the Express Labeller supports Windows 2000 and
  Windows XP.
- This version will not update the Express labeller provided as part
  of IBM RecordNow or Digital Media LE.


Bugs Corrected
==============
- A crash that occurs in certain DBCS languages is prevented.
