dead thinkpad 600e. any possibilities?
I have a thinkpad 600e (obviously) and I'm having some serioius issues I need some help with. The type is a 2645-5AU. For whatever reason, the machine will not power on at all. I've been having this discussion over on notebookforums.com for a while and started googling when i read there was a possiblity that my planar could be fried. I have tried every single combination battery/power cord that i can with my 2 regular batteries, ultraslimbay battery, and my replacement power cord (which we have verified as compatible)
Heres what happened. My original IBM charger finally up and died on me, so I was able to go without for a few days while I waited for my replacement to arrive from ebay. In that time, I managed to kill all 3 batteries totally. Now none of them will charge, nor will the laptop power on.
Any suggestions?

You can use the Hardware Maintenance Manualto show you how to open and remove/get to any part within the 600E. It will also show you how to check out power related problems

well, using the power checkout guide, i have eliminated the cmos battery as the issue, as i got a 2.7v charge on that. i cannot test my regular or bay batteries as they are all dead, which means i cannot power up the laptop. that and my voltmeter won't fit in those slots haha
so am i looking at the possiblity of needing to replace the system board?
i just figured out that it would help to plug in the charger before i test it. (i forgot my dad unplugged the cord to plug in his shredder lol)
EDIT: also, when i do open up the machine, what am i looking for as far as checking the power connector?
