Now where is that link to the video criticising Mac/OS-X?
Now where is that link to the video criticising Mac/OS-X?
Hi! Some time ago, somebody posted his unenthusiastic impression andgave us a link to a site with videos, and one was a very funny one with a guy that complained about how ...dramatic and frustrating life can be with mac users too.
Hope we can find it again.
Thanks
Thanks

Wow, that is the biggest piece of nonsense I've seen in years. Funny how all of the things he describes, crashes, file corruption and the like are common PC problems that almost never occur on a Mac, and his solution on a PC being arcane DOS commands, which you don't need on a Mac.
Obviously its a parody of Apple's "Think Different" ads and is funny, but anyone who believes any of that has obviously not used a Mac in a great many years (since OSX).

Mmm, arcane DOS commands in Windows; might have worked for 2000 and XP, but I have to wonder how long that will last especially with Vista.
In any case, one should be able to use a GUI and a terminal on a powerful system; IMO, having both is essential for efficient and optimized operations being carried out. That said, I would like to see more people use command lines instead of GUIs. Sure having a nice GUI is good, but it doesn't replace having a command line at your disposal.

To use a command line requires memorizing commands, somthing that was required back in the 70s and 80s, but has long since been left behind by regular users. Command line today is for people who program, modify or support computers for a living, not the regular users who just want to get their work done.
I used to be semi advanced DOS user, but by the time I got into Windows 95, OS/2 and Macintosh I found the GUI a much more pleasant, if slightly less powerful way to work. OS X has a terminal, but I've only needed to use it once, to enable a hibernation feature in Tiger that is disabled by default from the factory. In that instance, I did not both learning the arcane Unix commands but rather just copied and pasted the text from the website with the instruction on how to enable the feature.
For everything else in Windows or Mac OS X, even if slightly slower, I prefer the simplicity of using the GUI.

I've yet to see for myself how this is in reality...but learning my way onto the OS-X isn't quite smooth,(read -very rough) considering I'm somwhat a power-user on a PC, frustrating a bit...
But yes, the main motive behind the posting is yes, the funny side, and an open mind...
