Lenovo should seriously offer legacy (ie., minus the windows and application keys) as an option for their new models. Many of use (especially those of us who dont use Windows primarily) do not want a Windows key. I've owned a few thinkpads, and I am very used to the key layout Fn Crtl Alt. I would hate to have a windows key messing me up.
I have an X60s on the way, so I will have to suck it up, but how hard would it be for them to produce legacy keyboards and sell them as an option. I am even considering doing a hack to cross an X40's keyboard with the X60, as to remove the windows key.

In my opinion, the Windows key isn't much of an issue and actually becomes a convenience one you get used to it. For a short period of time I used an older Vaio laptop and there was also a period of time when I used an HP OmniBook; both of which had Windows keys. Despite making the keyboard look more cramped, they actually didn't take very long for me to get used to and after several days I actually found myself using the key.
