T60p - iPC 10.5.6: Normal Temperatures
T60p - iPC 10.5.6: Normal Temperatures
Was wondering if anyone's processor's ran as hot as mine, maybe this is normal but it seems a bit hot to me.
With SpeedStep:
No Activity: 123.8 degrees F and 125.6 degrees F
Normal Activity: 130's F
Without SpeedStep:
No Activity: 150's degrees F
Normal Actibity: 160's degrees F
I can see that with speedstep it is clearly working but is this normal? again it seems a bit high to me but this is my first computer I've been able to successfully load iPC on.

i don't know the actual temperatures (where do you check?!) - but i have 10.5.6 on my t60p and it gets *very* hot.. i can check real temps if you let me know how..

mine is even hotter - not under any heavy load (just safari and a few others open):
147.2 degrees
147.2 degrees
Re: T60p - iPC 10.5.6: Normal Temperatures
My T60p works fine in 10.5.7, and CPU temp isn't too bad, but if I try to reboot into XP it freezes. I have to let it sit and cool for a while before it will reboot. Playing with Linux I've determined that the CPU temps are fine, but the GPU is overheating. I have the same problems if I use the proprietary driver in Ubuntu. Using the open-source driver in Linux fixes the GPU overheating problem, but I haven't found any solution for Mac OS X.
