Keep high or low density 64mb ram? for 600e?
Keep high or low density 64mb ram? for 600e?
I have a 600e with
32mb low density (4 pcs) - built in
64mb low density (8 pcs total) - added
64mb high density (4 pcs total) - added
I want to expand my memory, so I have to remove one of them but which 64mb ram should I keep?
thanks

If they both currently work I don't think it matters unless one is a CS2 (faster) rating.
Collection: 310ED, 350C, 360C, 365C, 365XD, 380D, 380XD, 380Z, 390E, 390X, 560X, 600, 600E, 701C, 750CS, 755C, 755CD, 760C, 760CD, 760ED, 760EL, 760XD, 760XL, 765L, 765D, 770, 770E, 770Z, T21, T22, T23, T30, A20P, A21P, A22M, A30, A31, A31P, T40, T42, T43P, T60, T61, R32, R40, R52, T400, T500, W510

You could also try upgrading the hard drive if you are after more speed.
X61 and (retired)600x.

My recommendation would be to take both 64MB sticks out, and put two 128MB sticks in it. That's the way we run our 600E.
Collection = T430 - T500 - R400 - X300 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - R61 (15" SXGA+) - T60 - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P

Re: Keep high or low density 64mb ram? for 600e?
I'd pull the "high density" (4 chips on the board) module since the system is probably only seeing 32MB worth. 600E systems can take low density 256MB modules so if cost is not an object, then pull BOTH 64MB modules and install at least one 256MB module.kocoman wrote:I want to expand my memory, so I have to remove one of them but which 64mb ram should I keep?
