will not hibernate (go to BSOD) after changing to SSD

replaced stock HDD with Samsung 840 Pro Series 2.5" 512GB,

made image with Acronis Tre Image 2014 ( got it for this purpose).

swapped HDD with SSD booted to - everything great.
removed indexing on all partitions and set defragmenting off automatic.

put thing to sleep overnight and then instead of wake up I get BSOD ( unproper shut down ) and rebooting. Hibernation file exist on c:\. Next tried to force hibernation same thing, will not, and go to BSOD same way.

It all was acted normally when running of HDD (i.e. going to sleep, staying asleep, hibernating e.t.c.

Haw can I resolve this quirk? any help (clue) greatly appreciated - thank you

update:
disabled hibernation, disabled paging ( never went over 50% RAM usage yet)
re-enabled hibernation no change
actually at times will not go standby but BSOD, i would love to stay with SSD byt no under these circumstances

right to the point emtee3511, thanks, I set stop HDD timer to 3600 min. (for now, there seems to be no disable or i have not found it yet in Win 7) and I'm home free.

Going back and fort sleep does not come faster with SSD - this is understandable writing/reading is not involved.
Thing I do not understand, why Acronis True Image does not suggests this change while cloning to SSD or even make change automatically and notify.

Glad it may be working with "stop disk rotation" -- my thinkvantage power manager 6 has a selection for "never" -- but hopefully, whatever you did will continue to work

One further note, all the thinkpads in my signature are running on ssd's -- I have optimized each ssd (after upgrading from HDD to SSD and cloning or reinstalling os) using SSD Tweaker, which I found several years ago on MajorGeeks website. SSD Tweaker is a free utility (although it offers an "advanced" version, which I've never used) and installing it just makes sure all general SSD settings are optimal. It is possible it could set your hibernation/sleep mode differently and correct the issue permanently.

happiness does not last long . . .
I am back to square one.
after reboot, can go standby/sleep once, than can wake up O.K..
trying go sleep again, second time after reboot, getting BSOD persistently. go figure.

You need a "real geek" to help out with your issue, so maybe another Forum member will take pity on us and chime in

In the meantime, two more "maybe" suggestions --

First try checking your bios SATA setting for ACHI or Compatibility -- whichever it's set to, change it to the other and see if (#1) it will boot -- and (#2) if it boots, then see if your sleep issue changes.

If it won't boot with the SATA ACHI/Compatibility change, then just change it back to original setting.

Suggestion #2 -- I was updating my X100e on Lenovo site last weekend because Microsoft pushed Windows 8.1 on me. My X100e is my only machine with Windows 8 -- all the rest are W7. While I was updating to 8.1 drivers on Lenovo, I think I saw some Lenovo/Microsoft patches for sleep/hibernate issues. The patch didn't reference SSD use, but it would still be worth checking Lenovo website for your machine to see if there is a Lenovo patch available for your current issue.

seems I got to what caused problem just by swapping SSD for HDD and installing piece of software known as TX3 Configurator - this is software communicating with intercom system hardware of Mircom Technologies, basically allowing down and upload door / elevator / e.t.c entries.

Computer started to act just the same with HDD: going to sleep or hibernate once with no trouble, waking out fine and on second time when trying put to sleep - bang
BSOD - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LES_OR_EQUAL.
Alas did not made system partition backup before and do not know if uninstalling will solve problem.

Yeah, I was strong believer in System Restore, not anymore, after restoring to the point before problematic software and its drivers.
Something tells me I might need to go as far as reinstall on HDD; at least SSD is fast enough to live without going to sleep option.
