Serial Number Lookup? *PICS*
Serial Number Lookup? *PICS*
Recently, I've been trying to find the specs for my company laptop which I used from 2001-2003. I know it was a Thinkpad of some sort (fond memories of the nub). I'm pretty sure it was T series, but it could have been something else. Today I made a major breakthrough and managed to find an old email referencing the serial number: 78-NP668. I'm wondering if anyone here has the expertise to turn that into a model number?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Serial Number Lookup?
Lenovo's serial number database has been purged from any info relating to the models prior to T60, so no luck there.
That does sound like a serial matching a T2x range of the machines, though. Maybe a T30, but nothing later than that, from what I recall.

Re: Serial Number Lookup?
Given when I received it (late 2000, early 2001), it was at most a T22. More likely a T21, or a T20 - but it could have been something in the A-series as well. I'm continuing my search for clues. Thanks for your response!
Re: Serial Number Lookup?
I just looked at my late 2002 A31p and the serial begins with 78...
You're going to have a very tough time finding out what the machine was based on the serial alone, but good luck nevertheless.

Re: Serial Number Lookup?
Well, we can narrow it down by playing 20 questions... (all thumbnails are clickable for full size (800x600) images)
- Was there a built-in (non-removable) floppy drive on the left side?

If so, you had a A2x system. Also note the speakers up underneath the screen.
- Did the keyboard have a column of round buttons on the left side?

If so, you had a A3x system. A3x system usually had a floppy drive on the left but it was removable.
- Was there NO floppy drive and NO column of round buttons on the left side?

If so, you had a T2x system.
