trying out a thinkpad?

ive all but made up my mind, and i know that best buy, KompUSSR, and circut city have lots of laptops stapled (oh ya office depot and staples i guess too) to their shelves letting people try them out. but where can i get my grubby hands on an ibm thinkpad and try it out. ive seen some kids around school with them, but they were just strangers, and i doubt they would let me screw around with their thinkpad.

where can i try one out?
(is htat possible?)

Your school bookstore may have them.

lol not a chance, and if you mean like my college's computer shop thing, no they are mactacular and hardly have any windows products.

Which campius are you at, Ann Arbor, Flint or Dearborn?

The computer store in the Union sells Thinkpads and has them on display AFAIK! T42 with XP and Office XP.

edit: well ill be...... i know i looked at the u of m comp showcase thing for prices back in april (i was comparing school prices to ibm discounts) and never saw ibm laptops. hmmm i may have to drive back over to ann arbor sometime so i can go in the union and try one out. thanks for the help!!!

(too bad they dont have the "uninvented/unrevieled" tablet x41 yet)
