T30 very slow to page load

#1 Post by burns334 » Sun Apr 13, 2014 9:47 am

What's up with the old T30, it was very slow at completing an internet page load so I just said heck, I'll just rebuild the system. Well I got thru it with a problem but got over it, but page load time are horrible. Most of the page loads, according to the temp bar on bottom of IE but it does not want to finish. I hooked it up wirelessly and with a ethernet cord, same results. It only has 1G of RAM as one of the slots has a problem. I ran PC doctor and it doesn't come up with any problem areas. Opening and closing folder and desktop functions seem very normal.

Try running Internet Explorer without ad-ons and see if the load time improves. If it does then suspect an ad-on is causing the delay. Newer versions of Adobe Flash and Shockwave were released which maybe taxing older systems. Personally on my older system I don't even use I.E. for everyday browsing since it bogs down on page loading like you are experiencing. For those systems I use FireFox with Ad-Bloc. Load time is much improved even with the latest Flash and Shockwave.
