Using Seagate 5.4K100 HDD in T43
I just bought a Seagate 5400 rpm 100G HD model # ST9100823A. When I try to use it in my T43p (2668g5u), I get the message that it needs a firmware upgrade or is not supported. But it seems to work OK. How can I fix this or am I just SOL? It works fine in my T41. Thanks.

The Seagate is not on the list of officially supported harddrives. This harddrive check appears to be implemented starting with BIOS v1.04.
I guess you can roll the BIOS back to v1.02 or v1.03a to avoid this warning.

Re: Using Seagate 5.4K100 HDD in T43
I encounter the same problem with my T43 after I replaced my HD with a Hitachi Travelstar model:HTS726060M9AT00. I sent email to Hitachi for help and they said that there is no problem to use that HD with the T43, but the drive is of a Generic part number and not with IBM OEM part number and that is why I got that warning when I turn on my T43.
By the way, all these happened after I upgrade the bios from 1.04 to 1.05
