Lenovo duplicates of Windows programs
Is there a list of programs that came with my Lenovo Rescue and Recovery (Win 7 Ult x64) install that duplicate pre-existing Windows programs? I could use more room on my SSD.

Re: Lenovo duplicates of Windows programs
Never seen such a list.
Note that the Recovery Partition is WAY out of date anyway, and would need ca. 150 or more updates after (re)install, so DUMP TRUMP it.
Or you may first image the recovery partition onto another drive, and then delete it.
Then extend the partition that was before it.
You'll gain about 10-15 GB.
There are a few GB of junk on your drive also, such as in various Temp directories (Windows plus Users),
plus all the contents of c:\windows\software distribution\downloads
You can take ownership of all those unused foreign-language sub-dirs all over the place, and then delete them.

Re: Lenovo duplicates of Windows programs
With 7 and latter you only need hotkey integration, system update and drivers and those can be installed manually. I don't see value of recovery media beyond Windows XP.
For reinstall, it's best to clean install from vanilla OEM (not Lenovo) WIndows7 media (Home, Pro, Ultimate) and activate with SLIC, then only install what you need. Use Lenovo key and Lenovo xrm-ms cert, they can be found online.

Re: Lenovo duplicates of Windows programs
The only useful Lenovo programs are Hotkey Features Integration, Auto Scroll, Ultranav Driver, Active Protection System (if running an HDD), Power Manager, Fingerprint Software, and Communications Utility.
Mind you these are designed for Windows 7 and barely work on 10. The replacement for them, Vantage, is a piece of *.
