I was just looking around online and looked up PCI to PCIe adapter and there is one. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product. ... lsrc=aw.ds
So I was thinking how well would a graphics card run on this in my old IBM Personal Computer 300 Pentium III with only 3 PCI slots on the board only.
I think it would be a fun experiment to try.
Take a look at our

Re: PCI to PCIe adapter
Well, other than it won't fit properly in a closed case, one has to ask - why? What OS are you going to run on that system that even has drivers for PCIe cards? There are still plenty functional, powerful PCI cards around.
But for the sake of the experiment, assuming they implemented the bridging properly, it should run as it does on a PCIe x1 slot. There are many possible complications, though - starting from PCIe-specific features that are not implemented in PCI, and finishing in the ability of the computer BIOS/OS to detect a graphics adapter behind such a bridge.
Keep us updated if you do manage to try it out.
