so I accidentally broke my L540 keyboard by accidentally spraying a mist of water onto it.... i thought it would put up just like my T410/T420, but alas, i need to fork out
some money for a new keyboard...
so onto the question, my keyboard FRU is 04Y2348, i searched it on my local online shopping website but there is no parts for the aforementioned FRU.
The only keyboards available here is for the E540 : 04Y2689 whereas for the T540p/T540/W540 : 04Y2348 and 04Y2387.
is the keyboards interchangeable between models? it looks like it has the same connectors
Take a look at our

need help with L540 keyboard replacement
Re: need help with L540 keyboard replacement
The non-backlit keyboard for the T540p/W540/W541 should work in your L540, but I am not too sure about the backlit variant. I think it could work, aside from the backlit functionality. Not very sure about the E531/E540's keyboard either, though the cables look quite similar.
I suppose that you could get the non-backlit keyboard for the T540p/W540/W541, just to be on the safe side.
By the looks of it, it does look similar when compared. Still, I find it a little confusing considering that the E531, E540, L540, T540p, W540, and the W541 shares the same keyboard (excluding the backlit variant). Additionally, the same non-backlit keyboard that is shared within these models seems to have 32 traces for the the wide grey cable, and 12 traces for the narrow white cable.
