X1 Carbon Gen 2 eGPU

#1 Post by Misaligned » Fri Dec 14, 2018 7:03 am

I know it might sound stupid but I'm attempting to create a DIY GPU dock for my X1 Carbon and connect it to an external monitor.

My plan is to remove the 4G Card and replace it with the EXP GDC Dock. My questions are:
Which port does the WWAN use? mPCIE or NGFF?
Should it work?

Based on the X1 Carbon Gen 2 FRU listing https://support.lenovo.com/ph/en/parts/pd030262, it's NGFF/M.2.

The big question is whether the PCIe signals are wired to the WWAN slot or not. I do not know the answer to that one.
