p50 / *BSD
p50 / *BSD
anyone running *BSD on their p50? was looking to try OpenBSD in particular but with Nvidia Optimus i am doubtful....if you are running a *BSD on your P50 please tell me more about your experiences good & bad...
Re: p50 / *BSD
I haven't tried, but you can probably try a live-"CD" session with whatever bootable install media is available. (At least, that's common elsewhere like Linux distros.)
Re: p50 / *BSD
I have run OpenBSD on a W530, P70, and currently P71 with no issue. You should be fine.
As long as it has integrated graphics as an option, OpenBSD will roll to that. There is no nvidia support since 2007 or so.
External monitors will likely not work as they are driven by the nvidia chip.

I really don't know how battery life is. I am usually plugged in. Maybe once a month I'll go sit on the couch, and that's not more than 30 minutes at a time.
