P71 STOPS BOOTUP AT LENOVO RED SCREEN
P71 fails to boot up. Stops at screen display red Lenovo logo with message 'To interrupt normal startup, press Enter'. Pressing enter does nothing. Have tried PF12, have tried booting up without battery installed & battery only. Device was working fine when last used. Placed laptop in case & then into back pack. Return to house & attempted to use laptop and it's just stops at this point.
Laptop is out of warranty. I'm looking for suggestions on how to proceed in trouble shooting this issue, or, if someone has encountered & resolved a similar problem.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Was the computer hibernating or asleep when placed in your backpack?
Have you tried re-seating the memory?
Any beeps at POST?

I will reseat the memory.
I normally go through a process where I shut the PC down (habit) prior to putting it in the back pack. I have to assume I did it this time.
There are no beeps.
Will report back after reseating the memory.

Opened up the laptop. The 16gb memory module is secured with a screw. At any rate, I removed it and reinserted the module. Same results, stops at Lenovo red screen logo. No beeps, pressing enter does nothing, PF12 does nothing.

Sounds like a faulty Motherboard to me, since you cannot even get into the BIOS...
1. As a last resort (and a looonng shot), try reseating your SSD as well.
Good luck!

Re: P71 STOPS BOOTUP AT LENOVO RED SCREEN
Thought I would post the solution to this issue. It came from the Lenovo forum.
Their suggestion was to remove any connected external devices. For over a year and a half, I've had a USB mouse dongle plugged into the P71. I started to reply there were no external devices attached, but, them remembered the USB dongle. I removed it & the P71 came up with the Lenovo red screen logo. I pressed enter & voila..... IT'S ALIVE!
Thanks for the suggestions & help.
