what lenovo software for screen luminosity bar and sound level bar
what lenovo software for screen luminosity bar and sound level bar
Hello, so here is a question which I dont think arises that often
what is the go to software/driver in order to have the nice greenish bars appearing on the screen when you change the screen luminosity and the sound volume?
I know I have it installed in my T60 which runs on win XP, which came with it already installed, but none of my other thinkpads has it, windows installed by me, win 7 mostly and also 2 with win 10, albeit im interested just in a solution for windows 7.
also what other thinkpad software is a must have, except the power manager, the rescue and recovery and solutions center, which I install all on every machine.
thanks

Re: what lenovo software for screen luminosity bar and sound level bar
Typically you need the hotkey integration package, the power management driver, and maybe another on-screen display package.
It is quite tricky because there are so many different versions and they don't all work well with one another or with every Thinkpad model, or every OS. It can be a nightmare to find good reliable combinations.
Also, from some version the greenish bars changed to black-and-white ones.

I thought so, anyway, what I need is for T61 with Win7 combo, I don't care if it's green black or white.dr_st wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2019 9:28 amTypically you need the hotkey integration package, the power management driver, and maybe another on-screen display package.

Re: what lenovo software for screen luminosity bar and sound level bar
So this is what I found
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/fr/en/downloads/migr-74261
This one is for all classical models 4:3 and also the oldest wide screens that still had the classical keyboard
https://support.lenovo.com/fr/en/downloads/ds101334
This one is for the post classics and even early P series
But it's not for the models that went on sale the last 3 years. Probably because anything that new is obligated to be a Win10 machine due to the limitations in intel cpus to only accept win 10.

Re: what lenovo software for screen luminosity bar and sound level bar
Without the factory system restore disc I still don't have the right combination for my T500.
When Lenovo had the automated system checker for this machine it was a lot easier to get the correct drivers the first time.
Now it's a legacy system and is not included in their system scan list. I think the T510 is also excluded from this scan, and the T520 will be next.

Re: what lenovo software for screen luminosity bar and sound level bar
yes you need the good combination of hotkey and PM device
so I recommend the version 8jvu20ww.exe for hotkey
previously you must remove any version that you have
it works on the x260 with PM device driver here

Re: what lenovo software for screen luminosity bar and sound level bar
by the automated system checker, do you mean the system update app that you install in the machine and it checks on its own for drivers and stuff?
