Graphics problems when using OneLink with dual monitors?
Graphics problems when using OneLink with dual monitors?
With my current setup I have my X1 Carbon 3rd gen with the i5-5300U hooked up to the onelink pro dock, which has two 1080p monitors connected to it with the laptop display disabled. But when i use it, once in a while one of the screens would go black for a second, preceded by a graphics error that looks like someone took the screen through a paper shredder and lined up the strips again, sometimes it just does the graphics glitch for a moment and goes back to normal. Is there anything I can do to test this and figure out how to fix it? it seems to happen to both monitors, but not at the same time and i haven't identified a pattern. it's this dock, looks like they are selling more https://www.ebay.ca/itm/153983921489
Re: Graphics problems when using OneLink with dual monitors?
We have X1C3 (X1 Carbon Gen 3), we we did not buy the OneLink docking solution for this.
In fact, I have not heard anyone else on this ThinkPads.com buying this OneLink docking solution, which works only on X1C3, unfortunately...

Explains why it was so cheap then. Oh well, it was only intended for a temporary solution anyways.

after doing some testing I'm pretty sure that it's the 65w ac adaptor being maxed out so i ordered a 90w one that should work better. plus a USB hub so i can plug everything in.

Did it work?
Keep us posted. I'm curious to find out if the glitches go away when using the 90watt adapter.
Re: Did it work?
Apologies, but I don't remember but problably? I do know that shortly after I got a X1 Yoga Gen1 that uses the OneLink + and it runs fine, and I still use it as a htpc. I ended up getting a 5th gen X1 Yoga and a thunderbolt dock and it runs really well. I appreciate that you can get five-year-old thinkpads for dirt cheap on eBay due to companies refreshing their hardware.SurrealMustard wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 2:14 pmKeep us posted.
