I made a working Catalina Hack with OpenCore over the past few days. So far, only a FEW issues

I also have an X2100, its working great on Big Sur - lulujyc from here got me started with an EFI for an X210 on Catalina I used it as a base. This is where I am at so far:

Have you managed to fix sleep/hibernating? Mine will sleep *sometimes* - and shows the "moon" icon on the LED bar, but other times it stops responding and no keyboard input until I remove the battery.

Ah, on some things you're doing better than me. My brightness KEYS work, but they do nothing (are you using Brightness Slider app)? My trackpoint is also really jerky.

However I was a bit lazy and just downloaded the SSDTs for my laptop. Did you use SSDTime or manual configuration? You have a lot more SSDTs than I do.

Sleep doesn't work at all atm, but it did work on Clover. I'll have to investigate that.

My main goal here was to try to get it to work with Coreboot (still doesn't) :/

Yes brightness keys work really well. The trackpoint on mine is super smooth, I am using this aml which I tweaked the resolution for a nicer two finger scroll on the touchpad too: https://github.com/jamesfawcett/Thinkpa ... ackPad.aml I also need this to enable Thinkpad_Clickpad on the X2100 motherboard, rather than editing the info.plist inside voodoops2controller to add support.

I use the trackpoint mainly, but I've been trying to get all the trackpad functions working correctly using VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext, but when it's enabled, the clickable area on the trackpad is tiny. I think we might want to try VoodooRMI, I'm pretty sure the TrackPAD is SMBus / Synaptics. I have a different problem- when the TrackPAD (palmrest) and Trackpoint (red nub) are both attached, the Trackpoint is extremely jumpy. If I remove the palmrest, it works just fine...

In either case Trackpad works great, also with 2-finger scroll using Rehabman's VoodooPS2Controller.

The only weird issue I have is that under no circumstances or combinations of EFI drivers / input options does my keyboard work in the OpenCore Picker menu.. :/

Oh really! Now this is interesting to hear.

I'm going to try not add confusion to the thread here (like I always do!) but on one of my other OpenCore thinkpads (X201 i7 Arrandale original processor) we are currently experiencing the exact same issues! We've been trying to solve it here: https://github.com/jtaczanowski/ThinkPa ... e/issues/1

A workaround for now on that laptop, is enabling the External picker. You can use the mouse to select a drive to boot, but, if you make any input with the keyboard, the mouse stops working.

I'm going to post a link to this thread here on that discussion. It's strange how my X2100 has picker keyboard input, but your X210 and all the X201's doesn't! I must have something enabled on my X2100 repo. I will cross reference and compare!

As for the choppy trackpoint - I haven't tried disconnecting the palmrest, I'll give that a test to compare! You are right though, the touchpad is perfect even though it's small. Its super sensitive and all the gestures work. I find it just as nice as a Macbook to work with.

I just tried out your EFI (updated yesterday, right?) as-is. Several interesting observations:

- My keyboard works in the picker!
- Acceleration works in Monterey, including sleep! Much better than what I had before.
- Any idea why it's necessary to fake an Iris 645 though, instead of the UHD620 we actually have?

This does NOT work with Coreboot, sadly...

That's great news about keyboard working in the picker - I am still using Big Sur (but the latest 11.6). I will try the latest updates of OpenCore on the old i7 x201 later this week too, hopefully it fixes the picker

As for Iris 655, It was the only way I managed to get full graphic acceleration working with those framebuffers. However, I did arrive at that point whilst changing framebuffers and swapping things around whilst experimenting, so it might be worthwhile switching to 620 at some point to compare. I believe I got the 655 idea from a Huawei Matebook config I saw also using the 10510. The next thing on my list would be to create a USB map but a second baby arriving, and moving home shortly, life has got in the way
