Hi,
I currently have 2 X210s, one with the 2K (1920x1200) screen and the other with the 3K screen (2880x1920, I believe). The former is from Jacky a long time ago and has a poorly trimmed bezel which says X201, and the latter is from XYTech and has a nicely trimmed X200s bezel.
I found out randomly that the 3K screen lids and the 2K screen lids MUST be made out of different material - XYTech's one scratches easily, and even a fingernail leaves deep gouges. When I bought that machine from someone locally, the lid was pristine. Thinking that it would be fairly robust I had it in a box with some other electronics, and when I took it out today it's fairly scratched up. Jacky's old one can't be scratched with a fingernail, and the mark which is left rubs out easily, and consequently has no permanent scratches after years of use and abuse.
What gives? Why are these lids so different?
I really want to swap the screens now to get the 3K screen into the "unscratchable" lid, and while I probably could do it it looks fairly involved. I'm a bit disappointed here, has anyone noticed this as well?

The easiest way would be to just swap the complete lids.
The s-models were thinner (and lighter) which may explain the different materials used.
If you look at all the markings on the inside of those lids, some tell you from what material they are made.

Re: Difference between X201 & X200s covers (On X210s)?
Some models of the X200s (and X201s) had the 1440x900 screen, which used a completely different lid from the regular X200/201 with 1280x800 screens.
The regular lid is made from magnesium alloy (with a plastic part at the top for the antennas and webcam). I don't know which material the X200s lid is made from.
