T500 left hinge "fatal flaw"

my T500 bought in the summer of 2009 lasted for 6.5 years for the "fatal flaw" to come about. In early 2016 it was fairly easy to find another lid frame and a new pair of hinges at a reasonable price and extend its life. But in late 2022 it was almost impossible so i got another T500 (i had to change the lcd too).
Has anyone found a workaround to this without having to replace the lid frame? I understand with the proper equipment you can do many things. I still have the old T500 with the broken frame and only stands with a new plastic lid but cannot close the lid or it will break too.
