Is T420 Died? [SOLVED]

#1 Post by N4b00 » Mon Feb 12, 2024 4:27 pm

hi guys, today i've had an issue with my t420. This laptop is with me from some years and i hadn't any kind of problems. Today, while i was working, it poweroff. I've tried to turn on but nothing. Not a sign, a sound or something else, even the power led doesn't turn on. Does someone have ever had the same problem?

Thanks

Remove the battery, power cord, then hold the power button for 30-60 seconds. Release the power button, reinsert the AC adapter (but no battery) and see if it will power on.
The recovery sets guy

Hi, many many thanks for your kind reply. The procedure that you suggested have fix the problem. Do you know what made this kind of error?

Glad you're back up and running.

Without being able to reproduce the problem at will, it's hard to be sure. Hopefully it never comes back. If it does, I'd be initially suspicious of the battery itself causing issues (if it happens again, run it without battery for a while to see if the problem returns, and/or replace it)... or it could be a sign of a developing planar issue.

Yes, your help was very useful. Your answer was so accurate that I have thought that you had on mind a specific problem.
The battery should be original, do you think that power battery daemon on Debian 11 can generate this kind of problem?
However thanks again for the help and i hope that the problem never come again.
