How to apply Honeywell PTM7950 Thermal Pads
Lately it has become all the rage to use Thermal Pads instead of Thermal Paste.
This applies specifically to Honeywell PTM7950 Thermal Pads.
Good instructions for how to install them I found here.
Especially the fridge trick makes things easier.
You can buy these pads in many places, such as Amazon and ModDIY, or check e.g. this.

Thanks RBS. Didn't know the fridge trick. Will do that next time I use PTM 7950.

Re: How to apply Honeywell PTM7950 Thermal Pads
Hi all,
Did you see any great improvement in temperature (being colder) after applying PTM7950?
I have got a w520 and it reaches 90C when under stress.

Re: How to apply Honeywell PTM7950 Thermal Pads
Ever since I applied it to my T440p with iGPU, dGPU fan, i7-4702MQ, 16GB RAM and 2 SSDs, it has always stayed under 60C, regardless of load.

What was the temperature before the pad?

IIRC idling around 45-50C, under load around the low to mid 70s.
