Bought a 755CE off ebay, no hdd, no power adapter, shows as working in the pics from seller.
Rigged up a 20V lenovo adapter to positive and negative, system won't power on. Removed pcmcia cards, diskette, ram card, battery, still no power on. Voltage from battery connector is +13v (or 15v I cant remember). According to service manual this indicates charging circuit is working.
Found corrosion on backup battery (long battery on left side), removed it. Still no power.
Removed other coin cell battery, still no power.
Any ideas?

755CE no power
Re: 755CE no power
Strip it down and check any fuses you can see (usually marked with silkscreen as a F component (rather than c or r or whatever).

Re: 755CE no power
Hi there!
Did you manage to resolve this issue?
In the same situation I would definitely try to apply power to the regular power supply socket.
I would want to see what happens with an external display connected, at least one stick of RAM installed, and the HDD, any UltraBay devices and any PC Card / PCMCIA devices removed.
