I am thinking I somehow [censored] things up on my end because I am not a particularly experienced user. I am running the stock 51nb AMI bios+linux with the latest kernel, which I think should support the device OOTB.
lspci lists this audio device:

I previously applied these viewtopic.php?f=80&t=129796 bios settings for PCIe for power management reasons, but I don't think I tampered with the BIOS settings otherwise. For what it's worth, the same problem persists when I try in Win10, but it's a very unmaintained installation. Persists when booting from a live EndeavourOS USB too though.
If it was just the internal mic not working, i would've dismissed this as a hardware issue, but since the jacks act strangely too, I am thinking that might not be the case.
Hope someone here had encountered similar issue and managed to solve them!
All replies appreciated, thanks.
